When was Wales subsumed into England? I read recently that it was in 1536. What exactly happened oin that year that made the union final?

I suspect that a great many Welshmen would want to protest strongly at your use of 'subsumed'!

The Laws in Wales Acts (passed during the reign of Henry VIII) merged the administrative and legal systems of the two countries but, by (for the first time) formally defining the border, specifically recognised them as separate...
