What Laptop?

What laptop should I buy for web browsing, e mails and with an inbuilt camera for use with skype, with software already loaded ready to go?

I like my Asus - built for engineers and quite robust as it has few moving parts - more solid state.....and the keys are bigger. Really been happy with it. Was £540 fully loaded (Microsoft and IE9) inc Bullguard for antivirus.

To be honest almost any £300 to £350 laptop will do the job. You dont need anything powerful so not worth spending the extra money.

Almost all have inbuilt webcams nowadays.

Almost any laptop you buy will have all the software preinstaled.

Tesco, Sainsburys etc all have laptops for sale nowadays,

Sony Vaio

I have a Sony, I got it from Argos about 1 year ago for £500, its 17 inch screen so really good to read off. model VPCEF2E1E, it has camera, and came with all the software preinstalled (note I did not take the free norton anti virus 1 month trial as it stuffs your computer with rubbish you can't get rid of ever! use Microsoft Security Essentials its free and great) Only negative of laptop it gets hot. Other wise brill love it. BF just got HP one and its rubbish, crashes and hard to understand. I think Sony spend a lot of time designing user friendly software. I would recommend 17 inch screen I know it cost more but it really helps when using the internet I wouldn't have anything less than 17 inch. Also if all the software is pre-installed remember to buy some disks or a hard drive to back up those files so you can get the factory settings all back if there is a fatal error.

Dell from Tesco Direct perfetly adequate for that requirement.
You may have to load Skype and MS Office, etc if required.
Any laptop you buy will have out-dated software anyway.

Well if you are planing to use skype on your laptop, I would say you are going to dispose off your system no matter how good the specs are. I would say you should consider some genuine voip providers like axvoice, packet 8 etc. They will get a few bucks from you but they will guarantee that your system does not go down because of their software.
