There is no guarantee that the picture will be good enough for everyday use as a PC monitor. Even with a HDMI/DVI connection between the PC and the TV which you will definately need.
I have an older Phillips LCD and although it is 1080i/720p resolution, and I was using a DVI connection, the picture was fairly blurry, it was fine for watching movies on from the PC (which is all I used it for) but it was not crisp enough for actually using as the main monitor for browsing the internet etc. unloess you wanted to end up with a headache.
If you already have this TV it is probably worth paying for the DVI lead (make sure you have this output from your PC!) and giving it a go, but if not then don't just buy the TV for this purpose without seeing a demo of what the picture will look like.
