Then I see the below that just makes me want to bang my head on a desk really hard.
A friend posted on facebook "Amanda Knox has been freed".
This then led to the comments below.
Friend 1: whos amanda knox?
Friend 2: is that the nasty pedaphile from that nursery?
1: Sugar really, she should have been strung up,
2: actually i don't think thats her. i have just googled it and she murdeered someone. you can see i have not watched news for some time lol...... living in my bubble
1:no P**....Amanda Knox is accused of murdering her friend in America a while back. She's still going through appeal again!!!
2:ahhhh. just googled. i don't know it. back to my bubble lol
The inane chat then continues.
I have no question. I just wanted to share my despair with adults. I am desperate to shout at them READ AN EFFING PAPER ONCE IN A WHILE!
Am I missing something, nope, I don't think so. I do feel sorry that this poor girl has been put through so much. I also feel sorry for the young girl who is now dead.
I agree with Trimeresurus. Does knowing what's in the news make you happier? When was the last time you went on a protest march, or wrote to your MP, or acted on aything you saw/heard in the news? If you're not proactive then why be nosey, and watch other people's misery on the news.
This isn't particularly aimed at the OP. It's just a general question.
I have never been on a march or written to my MP, so I'm not missing anything. And personally I'm happier not watching the news or reading it. Bear in mind too that a lot of what we're told is at best, only half true.
But you're right about it being odd that someone wrote their opinions on a news story they didn't understand
tommy h, were you talking to me? It's very confusing to know who is talking to who sometimes. When I mentioned the word "opinion" I was talking about the opinion of the person who the OP is complaining about. If you're not talking to me; then ignore this msg.
