Whether Amanda Knox did it or not, it will live with her forever. if she thinks that she can forget it when she gets home then she is mistaken. Only psychopaths can justify it. If you look at other murders it catches up with the perpetrator in the end.
The boyfriend obviously still has feelings for her and I wonder how he will feel when she goes back to the US and forgets him!

I consider myself fortunate not to have been called on so far to take these sorts of decisions. No one has perfect knowledge and there will be many cases where a miscarriage of justice occurs. If one is imprisoned unjustly then it is natural to want to have some balance for the experience. I'm unsure one can reasonably wish to prevent that. But on the other hand the guilty parties must be fairly dealt with. We naturally feel sorry for the murdered girl and her family/friends, but that can not be undone. One can only proceed on the present situation as it appears to be. One can not refuse justified compensation for years spent unfairly in captivity simply becuase the crime is so painful. I'm unsure I have any suggestions for a solution, just wish I had.
As for putting others in the frame, in those sort of circumstances I think I'd try to suggest others when being asked if I didn't do it then who did? If there was no evidence then any accusations/suggestions should not have been made public anyway.

All members of the Council of Europe (which includes nearly all European countries, and every member of the European Union) have signed the European Convention on Human Rights, which protects against double jeopardy. The optional Seventh Protocol to the Convention, Article Four, says:
No one shall be liable to be tried or punished again in criminal proceedings under the jurisdiction of the same State for an offence for which he or she has already been finally acquitted or convicted in accordance with the law and penal procedure of that State.

I'm no legal expert but it seems to me that this double jeopardy thing is a major crock. No one wants the usual EU trick of asking the same question again and again (with bribes if need be) until the desired answer is given: but if sufficient new evidence is found for a case then of course the situation should be reconsidered. I don't see that preventing this is justifiable as a human right. Indeed it seems to be the denial of a human right to the rest of society.
Hi people. Hope everyone I well :/)
Just a moan really.
Got a quote from my daughters nursery this morning and it's gona cost me £550 a month to put my 2 in nursery when I've had the baby and return to work :/(. I only earn £490. I currently pay £280 for my daughter to attend a day and half a week. This is so expensive don't you think.
I really want to go back too :-(
Sucks or what! What would you do? X
