You guys know that I don't often do 'serious' but this is one such time.

He and I really want Baby. I'm 35 in a couple of months and he's had the op.

The situation is breaking my heart right now.

Is there any way he can get it reversed on the nhs (bear in mind he was forced into this by his ex wife at the tender age of 25) and if not, how much would it cost to have it done privately? :'(

I saw the full reversal op done on a medical programme a few years ago - it looked pretty simple.

I hope that you both have a long and happy life together - whatever happens regarding a baby.

Oh NoM, so sorry you are having to go through this! My heart really goes out to you! I agree with the others who say go to your GP asap and see if he/she can see a consultant. Usually, if you speak to a consultant and explain that it would be difficult for you to have this done privately, they will be able to tell you how to go about getting it on the NHS, if it is possible. I really hope it can all be arranged for you and that it turns out to be successful! Lots of hugs and best wishes to you both! Keep us posted.

As someone who works in the NHS I'd have to say that I've not seen a reversal performed in the last ten years where I work and I believe that just about all NHS trusts no longer perform them, only in extenuating circumstances i.e. loss of family in a tragedy etc.

You will have no problem in finding a surgeon who will perform the op privately, however it is a technically demanding procedure to perform.

OH never wanted op done but doctors at the time said another pregnancy would kill his wife. He had op... Shred had another baby 2 weeks ago. The whole situation is agonizing.

it is certainly worth you looking into the reversal but do keep in mind we are not all able to have children, don't let it be too much of a focus as there are no guarantees even with a reversal that you will get the outcome you are wanting. Sorry if it seems like I am putting a dampner on things but sometimes we just need to focus on what we do have and be happy with our lot so to speak - good luck though x
