Broadband Connection
Further to my earlier question I'm trying to get everything clear in my head before proceeding further.
Say I wanted to sign up to Tiscali broadband and my Mum wanted to sign up to BT broadband - would this work? At the moment we are on different internet providers and have both phone lines plugged via an adapter into the one phone socket. Would this not be possible with broadband?
Sorry if this question is simple, but I don't know what's involved and want to know all the ins and outs before committing myself.

Your best bet is one broadband supplier who will supply a router (not a modem) and then you can each plug into that and share the connection whilst still being totally independent.
Well it could be possible, but you would be paying twice as much and, would be very complicated. Most companies dont like more than one connection going into one house.
Why do you want to have a different ISP, Go with BT's its actually faster than Tiscali. Due to the fact BT actually own the out side line therefore direct connection to the net
mattrix....
The loss to any signal would be minimal...
Likewise buy Gas From say SeeBoard, It's the same supplier they just buy a bulk quota and sell it cheaper. The gas is monitered yet your spud's don't take longet to cook.
Best bit of advise is.....What's capped and what do you want to use the connection for?...go from there
