when i do lamb in oven i add red wine, vegatable stock and whatever herbs i seem to find.
Lamb shanks would be the best in a slow cooker.
Neck fillet.... cubed and browned in a pan with some butter onions. and garlic.and a tablespoon of flour
Add to slow cooker with a cup of sweet cider, some dried apricots, some dried oregano if you have it and a little bit of mint 1/4 tsp of mint sauce will work.. and a cup of hot water... unless you can get some lamb stock cubes
Serve with new potatoes

Lamb steak... 1/3 jar pataks balti curry paste, tin of chopped tomatoes candfull of torn up cucumber and some chopped onion
For slow cooking I normally use a shoulder, and I also add red wine and veg stock.
I use any cut - the best buy at the time! Everything that comes out of the slow cooker is delicious. Personally i do not waste wine in cooking, i would just chuck it in with some rosemary or mixed herbs - lamb makes a lot of juices anyway so no stock when i cook it. Enjoy!

I have cooked a leg an shoulder in a slow cooker without any liquid, comes out lovely, gets all the fat out of it and it melts in your mouth, almost like doing in the oven.
especially if you rest it on a pile of veggies
