We had a little firework party (10 gentle fireworks and a packet of sparklers!! - I'm a wimp ) last night and I commented on how warm it was no need for my coat or gloves. This morning my windscreen was completely frozen so it must have got colder; then this afternoon I was doing some clearing in the garden and I noticed my old strawberry plants are in flower and there are actually some fruits forming. Bonkers!

As bonkers as conkers. Jumpers on jumpers off, I have had the windows open today despite the rain.
My hay fever has been giving me grief as well.
Yes we had late flowering strawberries in our garden as well - and it's happened before. I think that might actually be an odd property of strawberry plants, but no doubt a horticulturalist could put me right on that.
I noticed buds on my strawberry plants today when I went out to fill the bird feeders. I live in Scotland as well, and it's been more like early summer than November it's bonkers!
It's the same here in Germany. On Monday (31st October, a bank holiday here) I was outside in a t-shirt. A couple of days ago I noticed buds on a tree. It's getting cooler, especially at night, but the days are still warm. No doubt it'll snow next week...
The blackberry plants around the corner are still flowering, we noticed rosebuds this morning.

I've STILL got a delphinium in full flower, as well as all my snapdragons.
Nasturtiums, fuchsias and snapdragons still in full flower but there's a real nip in the air tonight.
I have a marguarite? type plant in a tub, it died down after flowering, so I cut it back. It is now in full bloom on the patio, as you say - bonkers.
