How to turn off Network, before installing Photoshop Elements 8 ? Do I have to turn off my Anti virus also? That I can do , but I see nothing about how to turn off my network connection. (Windows 7 Ultimate)
I cant see why you would need to turn off your network connection to install photoshop elements.
Some products do say the anti virus can cause problems during the install, but generally I dont think this is the case.
If you want to turn off your anti virus then display the control panel for your anti virus or security software and see if there is an option to turn it off or disable it.
Thanks VHG. The turning off of 'Network temporarily' is requested by the install instructions with photoshop. The antivirus being disabled was of course the easy part. I have not had to disconnect the network for any programs before, so I thought it best to ask.
I am far from being an expert, but you could switch off your hub/modem at the switch until the install is finished. it may be that photoshop have updates on the web, and while you are loading it may try to update something and cause the programme to malfunction.
when done, just switch the hub back on and all should be well.
