Could it be the menopause? Extreme night sweats are one of the common symptoms.

i'm not even 30 for 6 months i hope not!!
Oh well it was a good try! Will get the thinking cap back on then!!....Are you very stressed about something btw?
Was googling around there. There is a condition called Hyperhidrosis, related to extreme night sweats, you should take a look! At the opposite side to what I originally suggested,it can also be related hormonally to pregnancy!
Sorry sweatycow but youre never to "young" to start the menapause, sounds like it to me-hope im wrong! been there and nearly through the tunnel now, (so to speak.) go to your doctors and see what they have to say, good luck
I was exactly the same, but recently as I was so fed up with this problem I moved my bed so the headboard is right under the window and I have the small fanlight window open and so far it seems to help. I was a bit worried about getting a draught at first but I suppose that because my head is directly under the window the air seems to pass over me rather than straight at me. It seems to work better than a fan which I have also tried.
if you are waking up with drenching night sweat, then please go to your gp.

Also your body temperature rises by something like half a degree (which is a lot!) when you're pre-menstrual causing you sweaty and fitful sleeps in the week before your period.

I sometimes have night sweats and I too was worried but not so much any more now there's an explanation...

Have you started taking medication? My antidepressants make me sweat at night, so it could be a side affect of a type of medication if you've just strted taking something different.
