I have now replanted my Amaryllis, which I had for Christmas last year, and it is doing well. Three leaves about 9 inches tall and looking healthy. However, two roots have appeared above the compost. What is wrong, what are they seeking? Should I be giving more water? Can anyone help please? Should I put in more compost to cover the roots?
Amaryllis bulbs like to be high in the medium. They also like to be fairly well contained.
If it's more than half uncovered, add a little .. if not leave it .. they have loads of roots.
Thanks AlBags. I will leave it then. I was a bit worried about the roots showing. If they have loads perhaps there isn't room under the soil for all of them. Otherwise it appears to be doing well.
