As you may know there has been a petition of above 100000+ gone into parliament today regards the cost of fuel, my question for the ordinary public on here, ( Not HGV Drivers) to the ordinary posters, do you have any Idea how much fuel it takes to fill a Ridged Vehicle? do you have any liters it takes to fill an 44 tonne artic? & do you have any Idea of the cost to both? take that into account then think, do you think it's about time we stated & protested about the ever increasing cost.

dont hgv hauliers have a discount? or at least they are contemplating one.
I can't even remember the cost of filling my Smart Car..............
Question Author
Cazzz, hauliers do not get a discount.
Why would people who drive, protest about the cost of fuel on behalf of lorry drivers?
some people are not happy unless they're protesting or moaning. even if it's on someone else's behalf.
I'm not one of those people ;-)
But I do moan a lot.
+/- 600 litres on the artic....

don't know what you mean by ridged vehicle but trucks, buses, etccan go from 150 litres upwards.....
there are high speed pumps to load the diesel on many service stations - how to have a Formula 1 experience if you fill your (diesel) car on one of these......
A 44 tonne artic? Get it off the road and on to rail. No wonder so many died in last weeks pile up, with these drivers smashing their way through everything.

Messi, have you got the evidence to back up your statement?

Your supermaket prices Boo, the cost of food in the supermarket are effected by the cost of fuel the the haulier has to pay to bring the food in.
haulage companies dont get a discount, but i know that many pass the costs on to their customers, either by increasing all prices or adding a fuel surcharge (a bit like stainless suplliers add nickel surcharges to their costs)
We dont charge delivery on our products so its very difficult to pass on a charge when the prices change so rapidly.

DT, your a bit out on that, 1500 per unit that's with one tank, obviously if it had twin tanks 300 liters, you will see these on the long haul HGVs, so you can judge for yourselves what they use.

Sorry DT, 600.
Who's the idiot making with the stupid names?
-- answer removed --
.
Like it or not, the government can do what it likes with the price of fuel, if we want to drive we have to fill the tank.
-- answer removed --
oil is a finite resource therefore it will only ever increase and increase in cost until only the super rich will be able to drive petrol vehicles
