Even if you are right and many people aren’t bothered about Christianity, that does not mean that they are not bothered about Islam taking over as the main religion in this country.

While on the subject of the lack of interest in Christianity, some churches may not be full, since modern day attitudes have changed, Sunday is no longer set aside as the Sabbath, but one does not have to go to church to be a Christian, or to hold Christian beliefs.

I wonder how many of these un-believers spend thousands on a ‘fancy wedding’, which by default includes a church ceremony, and then later also go on to have their children baptised in church?

Probably quite a lot. Because to some degree (though thankfully less), society/people just expect you to. As you rightly say, not going to church doesn't immediately mean you aren't Christian, but using a church for a wedding or a funeral doesn't mean you are either.
