I asked for help last week but got nowhere so I'll ask again. My AOL email account won't let me in. It keeps telling me that my screen name or password are wrong. It was working just fine before I went to bed one evening but something happened overnight to change it. I've tried the AOL website but it is no help. I rang them but goit someone whose (foreign) accent was so thick I couldn't understand a word he said. Can anyone tell me how I rectify this problem?
Usually if you put in a wrong password you get a "forgot your password?" box to check...I take it you don't get that? If you are absolutely positive you have entered the exact username and password ..correct case for letters etc..then I don't know............you'll just have to keep bugging the Isp.
Thanks, Commoner. I've checked all you say and nothing happens so I guess I'll indeed have to keep bugging the ISP. I'm wondering if they've been screwing around at their end ... and one must always keep in mind that AOL here is run by the dreaded TalkTalk now.
There is a tiny "forgot password" link on there...click it and another page appears ...put your username or email and fill in the jumbled letters then Next button...see what happens ....
It also gives you the option to sign in using your Google account if you have one ..or Yahoo....
