I think Germany.... Third time lucky. They are already the most powerfull (and bossy) country in Europe. Poor old Winston must be turning in his grave!

I would bet money that Germany wouldn`t start another world war. I don`t think another world war will start in the Middle East either. In fact I don`t think there will ever be another world war much as some might want to start one. These days there are so many ways of detecting (and keeping a lid on) what is happening in countires with hostile intent and those countries capabilties of starting anything catastrophic will be curtailed long before they become a theat to the world.

Of course Germany isn't going to start another world war (yawn). What would they start it with? Apart from anything else they are only too well aware of the effects of World Wars having been at the centre of two in the last century. The modern German mentality is geared to preventing conflict at all costs. Hence Angela Merckel's comments which have got people so hot under the collar.

The Germans should have been destroyed the last time around. When D Day was taking place, we should have just dropped several bombs in Germany to make sure there was never any repeat.
