I had my first kangaroo burger in a pub a while ago. It came with mushrooms and emmenthal on top. I think I liked it. I think I would prefer beef though. It seemed to have a sort of perfumed taste. Did you think that? I couldn`t really describe it. It wasn`t like beef but it wasn`t gamey either.

mine had german peppered cheese on top. thought a bit gamey, no perfume taste though !

LOL I was out hiking at the time (in deepest North Downs) so it was just ginger beer for me.

We like Kangaroo Steaks on Christmas Day. It's overtaken over the traditional turkey as the meat of choice in our house.

My local pub used to do venison burgers - but upset some sensitive souls when it added 'bambiburger' to the kids' menu :+O

We had an ostrich farm nearby, but I never managed to try the meat, but our local butcher sells it. I think it's expensive.

Now I've just wasted time looking for kangaroo steaks on the Net ! I know I'll probably not going to bother ordering them mail order anyway. Although surprisingly few have them for sale.

Last year, got ostrich, springbok and reindeer (all Lidl Christmas specials) and all delicious. Looking forward to something unusual this year!
