Connect a TV, DVD recorder and Freeview box....
1 Answers
I have a TV (with inbuilt video/DVD player), a freeview box and DVD recorder. I have two scart sockets on my TV, two on the freeview box and two on the dvd recorder. No matter how I connect it all up, I have to disconnect it from the freeview box if I want to tape videos/DVDs from my TV. Can somebody give a simplistic way of connecting them all up so I can tape from my video player and freeview etc? I have AVI 1/2 and TV channel on TV and 4 AVI channels on the DVD recorder! Gosh hope somebody understands all this - I don't think I do and I wrote it!! DOH!!

A scart cable goes from AV1 on the digibox to AV1 on the telly. Another scart goes from AV2 on the digibox to AV1 (or AV In) on the DVDR. Final scart goes from AV2 (or AV Out) on the DVR to AV2 on the telly.
If you want to record from the digibox to the DVDR, then there should be an input select button on the remote so you can select the AV In, otherwise, have it record on the actual channel number but then it won't be in digital. If you want to record on the inbuilt video, just have it record from AV1.
If you're trying to put DVD's onto video, there might be some copy protection going on.
