I loved it when the daughter was young.......don't particularly bother nowadays.
I like Christmas, it's a time for family and friends to come together and, more importantly, I book 2 weeks off work :o)

You'd need 2 weeks to get round my family...
Depends how old you are as to whether you like the old culture of it or the new one....I prefer the old as it held more magic methinks.
I haven't been excited about Christmas for years. Most of my family are either dead or not speaking which doesn't help.
ummmm, I'll need 2 weeks to get over mine ;o)
i hate christmas!
Mark, I'm sure Anne. along with most other Christians, does not believe Jesus was born on 25th December. However, we do believe he WAS born and December 25th is the day chosen to celebrate that fact. Personally, I try to get as much as possible done by the end of November; presents bought, cards written, food organised etc., so I can enjoy all the fun things in December - carol services, nativity plays, Advent calendars without any stress. I love this time of year.
val, you gave my views much better than i would, i didnt want to get into a discussion about my views on CB.
Thanks Anne, I agree. I never get involved in these dicussions but just for once felt the need to make a point. Happy Christmas everyone.
t has become wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyy to commercialized here in the USA. Before Halloween is even over stores have Christmas stuff out to purchase. Then on the day after Thanksgiving (even the night of nowadays) people get stepped on and even pepper sprayed this year (at midnight) just someone else wants to get a video game first.
I manage to ignore it pretty easily. If you can keep away from the shops at weekends, keep busy and avoid posts on here about Christmas, you'll not have much to be sick of until much nearer the time.

Chin up stokie, its just another day anyway.
I love it, this year i get 5 days of work, going to get loads of food and wine and hole up at kine might surface on the 29th when i have to go to work for a couple of hours

Pass the humbugs please :)
Yes, you are scrooge-like. Christmas is great !!
It wouldn't be Christmas without "Christ" in it. Anything else and it's just a day for overindulging, overeating and watching boring same old, same old TV. Maybe 25th wasn't his exact date of birth, but be sure he was born.
