Apparently the sun will set at 16.17 - dunno how soon it gets dark after sunset where you are, but that should give you some idea.

It was getting dark at 4pm here in west yorkshire so it should be dark where you are. You'd better get a big torch.

I think it is the shortest day so it is bound to get dark the earliest in the year. After that the days will begin to lengthen.
