Play sand...how to get rid of!

Hi, I have recently broken down two large fish tanks and have a good few kilos of Argos play sand that I am stuck with.
Would it be ok to just scatter this over the grass [lawn] as I need rid of it.

yes, and / or dig it into the flower beds

Yes that will be ok , it is just ordinary sand that is washed before sale. You can scatter it over the garden or grass.

When you say broken down, did you break the fish tanks?

If so, make sure you aren't putting small bits of broken glass on the lawn.

lol....sorry no...breaking down is the term used for stripping a tank down. I was running four tanks and it was getting a bit much so have re homed the fish and sold off all the useful equipment. They are right now standing empty with the sand in the bottom.

why not plant the empty tanks with orchids and bromelliads could look lovely especially as you could grow some of the more fragile small varieties

Actually Rowan that might not be a bad idea if I can find somewhere safe for them. My daughter is quite greed fingered and I was looking at getting her a small greenhouse of some sort, this could be the perfect thing for her. Ones 4' long and narrow so I way be able to find a bit of wall for it to go on!
