I just use hot water and washing up liquid (which is good for cutting through any grease). I`ve got one of those hand-held rubber strip thingies that professional window cleaners use and it does a perfect job.
i use car windscreen washer fluid
a window cleaner :)
Same as 237SJ. That's how my window cleaner told me to do it.
My window cleaner uses car screenwash too.
hot water and washing up liquid, a window squeegy is also useful.
car screenwash? bizarre!
If you just leave them the rain eventually does the job. I haven't cleaned a window in my house since I moved in 11 years ago.
Can't agree with sandy, but it *is* easier to clean them just after it's rained on them.
crushed newspapers to dry it off!

Its for my patio doors mainly - the sun shines directly on them and they look absolutely filthy!
"the sun shines directly on them"

What's this 'sun' thing you speak of?
Vinegar, diluted in a bowl of water and dry off with newspapers. Preferably The Sun (sorry B00)
Same as Albaqwerty - dilute vinegar then posished off with scrunched up newspaper. That's the way my dad always did them.
