I went to my first ever last year and it was exactly as I imagined it would be. It was quite enjoyable being there with my nephew and niece but I would never go to one without kids. That would be a bit like torture.
I love pantomime (Oh yes I do) and don't really get the Christmas spirit until I've been to the panto. I've seen them all and never tire of them - professional ones of course, can't quite stomach the school or village ones.
Too true Maidup. My husband makes me laugh when he says things like 'If that kid behind me doesn't stop shouting I'll belt him one!' Any man who sings 'Deck your bowels with bits of holly' can't be all Bah Humbug! :o)
Meant to say I never liked Cannon & Ball on the TV but saw them in panto in Edinburgh - Babes in the Wood - and they were absolutely hilarious so had to revise my opinion. One of the best pantos I've ever seen.
Going to see Puss in Boots in January with 5 grandchildren, do this every year and love it. We join in with all the "He's behind you" and "Oh no it's not" etc
used to go to the london palladium every year when they had an annual panto and often the Wimbledon theatre as well saw some of the biggest stars of the time as they all did the big shows
