wing mirror cover

Some kind soul knocked the cover off my wing mirror in Morrisons car park. When I found it the lugs were damaged and it was cracked.

What is the best way of fixing it on again? Tried superglue but no joy.

Same happened to my Astra years ago, got a fresh cover from a scrapyard for a fiver and it clipped straight on but I had to spray it up as I got it off a white Astra and mine was purple (don't ask, it looked good in the showroom)

Don't go to the main dealers, OH couldn't get one anywhere else for his Audi, it cost him shedloads.

Scrapyards don't need to be local. Go to this site and the scrapyards come to you.

I am in Belfast but have bought bits from scrapyards from Barnsley to Stanford-no-Hope in Essex via this site. Reasonable delivery charges for small items like this, not sure what they'd charge if you were looking for a gearbox or back axle though.

Thanks Hopkirk. Much better than the ripoffs the main dealers offer. I will clag on the broken cover with tape for now and look into these sites.

Main dealers should wear stripey tops, balaclavas and have a sack over their back with 'SWAG' on it to put all your hard-earned into.

Buy cars from them by all means, but that is where the relationship ends. Repair them and buy generic parts elsewhere.
