is it not shameful that a govt that passes judgement on a tyrannical ruler like Hussein, who terrorised the Kurds and Shias and goes into a costly war to remove him, wines and dines the Chinese PM who was instrumental in causing maximum damage to the Tibetans when he was the governor. Now if Tibet had oil and vast amounts of it, things would be very different.

Hope it's ok I make a comment not really relevant as such. I was, and still am, against the war and I have all sorts of silly ideas to why Iraq was invaded, but I do believe the oil argument is wearing a bit thin. The US has spent over 200 billion dollars on this war and that is the US alone, and the costs could very well exceed 700 billion dollars. That is a lot of money! Besides Iraq still imports over half its oil, fuel, gas etc., their oil infrastructure has been attacked more than 200 times since 2003. If the Us wanted control and profit from the Iraqi oil resource it has been a really bad business strategy. .
Im trying not to join the debate but I think that blinky has a good point
