Lucky me, seems I am developing a cold in time for Christmas. What if anything have you found for warding off or dealing with the worst of the symptoms.
Just getting over one. Had a bad one with the cough and head cold a couple of months ago so maybe I'm a bit immune now. Plenty of sleep and rest if you can, paracetamol up to three times a day if you feel hot, and a Night Nurse capsule at night. Plenty of water. Hope you feel better soon.
By the way at the first signs of a cold or sore throat (or if someone at work is sneezing etc. all over the place) I always take echinacea, twice on the first day and then daily for a few days. Mustn't take them all the time. Didn't take them this time though ..... They build up the immune system apparently.
My 14 year old son started coming down with a cold a couple of days ago, he is now in full on sniffling and coughing mode. I imagine I will get it fairly soon too :(
Thanks everyone, mostly I know you just have to grin and bear it, have got some paracetamol so will dose myself up in the hope that it keeps most of the symptoms manageable. Otherwise someone else will have to cook Christmas lunch, wonder how that would go down :)
Get some Jakemans Throat and Chest sweets, the black packet is the best, they're really strong and unblock all the tubes. Our family swear by them all the supermarkets sell them alongside the cold and flu remedies.
