calculation

this calculation is correct
0.0625 milligrams
----------------- = 0.25 tablets
25 milligrams


but when i work this out on pen and paper my answer is 0.0025 tablets which is clearly wrong please can anyone help me get what i'm doing wrong

1 milligram = 1000 micrograms, so your tablets are 250 micrograms. To give 62.5 mcgs, that's 1/4 of a tablet.

All you are doing wrong is dividing by 25 when it should be 0.25
you've correctly got 62.5 microg to 0.0625 millig
Now top and bottom are both in mg so 0.0625 divided by 0.25 = 0.25

25 tablets would be 6.25 milligrams, or 6,250 micrograms!

Oops .............. markb, you've made the same mistake as me ......... tabs are 0.25mg NOT 25mg

Think there is some confusion in SI units here...

On face value and the most sensible seeming result... is it was 62.5mg was required and the tablets are .25mg then it would be 62.5 * 4 = 250

mg is milligram, or 1/1000 of a gram

µg is microgram, or 1/1000000 of a gram

The way round you've worded the question makes me think you're swapping units somewhere.
