Do you watch TVsoaps?

They seem to be very popular. What is it about them that draws the viewers?
I dont find them remotely realistic, but still they are the most popular programmes on TV.

I only watch Eastenders and occasionally Neighbours but I can take them or leave them. My mum sort of keeps me up to date if I stop watching for a while. I like tuning in for big storylines though!

They are just like any other drama on tv when you think about it apart from the fact they are on nearly every day.

Soaps have their uses, as do any genre of tv entertainment.

I watch Corrie and EE, Sky+ them without fail - each to his own (I freely admit I only watch easy to watch programmes - don't do complicated things or documentaries, etc).

Don't watch the soaps, Watched EE in the beginning in 85, realised it was nothing like the Eastend so stopped watching. Mrs MM watchers Emmerdale and Coronation St. though.

I have actually watched EastEnders for two days running since about 7 years ago, it feels like I've never been away.

When I was younger I would not answer the door or the phone when Coronation Street was on but as the plots got sleasier and sleasier (hope that's a word) I decided I did not want to watch it any more. I think the first plot I did not like was when a fourteen year old girl became pregnant. I know it happens in real life and in fact a distant member of my family had two daughters who both became pregnant at thirteen but I want my viewing to take me away from this and take me to a nicer place.
