My mp3 player will hold more than 300 tracks but is a pain in the whatsit when I need to switch on and play track 253 (say). Is there any way I can speed up track selection?

All depends on what type of mp3 player it is. your best bet is probably to type into google (mp3 player make and model) quick track selection and see what comes up if anything.
