My friend tells me it's not infected and we can change dressing again later do you think this normal am still very stiff but suppose that's to be expected anyone got any advice for me am sitting in a high back chair with my foot on a cushion and will proberly go and lay on bed for a couple off hours later?. Nothing unusual and just so long as it's not infected I would probably just keep changing the dressing. You will be stiff for a while but you need to keep moving and doing the exercises you would have been shown. I used to have a lie down for a couple of hours every afternoon and like you used a high back chair. Can your friend take you out for a short walk? No doubt a nurse will be coming in to check your would so will be able to set your mind at rest. By the way, I had my ops when I was 61 and am now back swimming, hill walking, dancing etc. Good luck.
My check up is on the 27 my freind has gone round the docs for dressings am walking about indoors don't really want to go out just yet as I live in a first floor flat and don't want to make it worse by doing the stairs.Approx how long does stiffness last ? And will try afternoon rest but am having trouble sleeping through the night ( not normally a problem for me )
