I would like to send a photo as an attachment to an email, but why does the picture also appear at the foot of the email as well as being an attachment? I see under Format there is a tick against 'send picture with message', but un-ticking this makes no difference - it just re-ticks itself. How can I stop the picture appearing at the foot of the email? Thanks.

You cant.
Outlook Express, Micosoft XP

Highlight the photo
Click Email this folder/picture
Select either make smaller or keep original size

Thanks. I thought there must be a way round it, though I find it means four clicks to actually open the picture. Worth knowing.
Can't see where it needs 4 clicks to open the picture.

I sent one to myself, and when the email arrived I just clicked on the 'paper-clip' in the top R/H corner of the message board, and clicked on the photo file from the drop down list, and it opened up in 'Windows Picture and Fax Viewer'.

Thought I had mastered it and sent it to a couple of friends but the attachment was 'empty' when it arrived. Possibly something to do with my security settings. I'll keep trying. Thanks for your help.
Send one to yourself, you will see for yourself what happens.

I right clicked the picture and then the 'send to mail recipient' option and sent it to myself but the picture still appeared as part of the main email message, plus the attachment picture. I experimented by putting the picture into a folder, then followed the same procedure to email the folder. Oddly enough it worked without the picture appearing as part of the message, though I did have to click the paperclip, then the folder, then a security warning and, finally the picture icon. Wonders never cease. I'll give it a rest for the time being and thank you for your interest.
