Wouldn't it be nice if the "Latest Posts" column was a lot longer (instead of being truncated by silly ads) - at busy times the current facility covers far too short a period since no sooner do posts appear than they disappear.

I suggested before it would be better if there were two sets of latest post. One of quizzes and puzzles questions and one for everything else. At certain times Q&P seems to be updated every second so everything gets pushed off really quickly.

Trouble is - as Ed's said before - no ads, no site. You can always click on the Houses of Parliament, top left, to have a look at all the most recent posts - I go there now and again to see which ones haven't been answered at all.

Count yourselves lucky. At one time it was down to 3 posts in order to fit more adverts in.

The "silly ads" pay for the site. But we could consider adding one more space to the latest posts.

EvianBaby's suggestion/previous discussion is probably the best way to go for the long term. We've just got to consider how to implement it effectively.

Just a thought; I don't run AB maximised, and, before I get a horizontal scroll bar I can get it down to just under half my screen width. Maybe you need to look at making more use of width on your pages.

We were thinking switching between "All" and "Favourites" - users would be able to choose their favourite categories (and maybe members?) to appear on a personalized latest posts pod?

No, no one likes scrolling sideways :)

Users would have to scroll a long way down on each thread to see it - while members who have used the site for a long time would know it's there, a surprisingly number would ignore it. As a general rule we keep the important stuff we want everyone to see "above the fold".

Not a bad idea for sections like CB, R&S & News - but they can dominate the LP anyway, I think it would end up looking lonely in, for example, H&G?
