Have Kaspersky security for 1 PC, and need to update it next month, would it matter if you buy the 2012 3 PC, it's a good price, and the original was recommended by a tech friend.

Don't bother paying for somethinh you can get for free.
Just change to MSE Security Essentials free and just as good if not better than Kaspersky.
Or if you really want Kaspersky just start an account at Barclays and register it for on line access , they offer free Kasperski to anyone with a Barclays online account. You only need start a bascic cash card...

Or if you really want Kaspersky just start an account at Barclays and register it for on line access , they offer free Kasperski to anyone with a Barclays online account. You only need start a bascic cash card account and put £1 in it to qualify. Then it is astandard Kapersky package.
If you have more than 1 pc just open a second account with another £1.

Eddie, thank you, have a barclays account, so will look into it.
I would take issue with the idea that Microsoft's protection is as good as Kasperskys

If you can find a review that says that I'd love to see it
Question Author
i will do this nearer the time, hopefully it's an offer they will still have in a month. If not well no matter.
MSE is pretty good for a free product, but as Jake says, it doesn't really compare with Kaspersky (or a number of other paid-for products).

rojash, that what my friend says, best security package around, and if it's free so much the better.

jwale wish i had known that last year, oh well - will take up the offer shortly.
Rojash - what's the dwon side of MSE
Question Author
had norton on old computer, so expensive, 2011 kaspersky found for 20 quid for a year, so if the next one is free then all to the good.
I change from Norton to MSE and it has been perfect no problems at all in over 2 years and free. I have a Barclays account but I have not bothered with the free Kasperky offer as I an happy with MSE. If someone can tell me why Kaspersky is better I will changs as it is free to me. I have been told Kaspersky slows down your PC ?

This review of Kaspersky (by Computeractive) should help you decide if it's worth using. (I've used Barclays free offer for six months and have had no problems at all):
