Flying to Tenerife on Friday morning, have taxi booked for 10.45 to EM Airport thinking ETD was 1420. Just been checking documentation and realised that ETD is 1000hrs.Just rebooked taxi for 0630am.OH is telling me what a prat i am.
In my defence i took the arrival time as the ETD time, anyone can do that,CARN'T THEY ?
ETD quite clearly means Estimated Time of Departure. Yes, anyone can misread anything, I suppose, but I'm 72 and shortsighted. What might be your excuse, dennisb66?
Many years ago I travelled 150 miles to Gatwick to collect my mother who was returning from a holiday in Canada, only to find I was exactly 24 hours early. Went home and did it all again the next day.
We used to collect a friend's child from school to put him onto a flight to Germany. At one point there was a strike or something at Manchester meaning bussing to somewhere else for some flights. We phoned Luftwaffe who said the late afternoon flight didn't exist on Saturday, despite havng sold a ticket for it. He would be on a morning flight, no apologies or whatever. We then had to make a 150 mile round trip on Friday night to get him from school. They never did apologise.
