Brightest Birds on the feeder ...

Just moved my feeder to a new position - the feral pigeons had taken full possession at the old site and were in danger of getting too fat to fly.

Interesting to watch the various birds working out the new site and adapting to its (deliberate) wobbliness.

First arrivals were a couple of robins, then assorted great/blue/coal tits and finally some chaffinches - none of these had any problems with using the wobbly feeder.

The sparrows haven't cottoned on at all and the fat pigeons are currently sat sulking in the trees. Even if they eventually find the new site, I'm hoping that the combination of weight/wobbliness will discourage the fatsos ...

Must be hard and frosty out in the fields though - the redwings have moved into the gardens & are currently stripping my cotoneaster of berries.

Brightest bird in the garden just now is great spotted woodpecker from the local wood which comes for peanuts. Very nervous and I just have to touch the door handle and he's off.

Nikon D200 dslr with the VR18-200 lens - taken through patio door glass, or it could have been just a bit sharper.
