I think all funeral companies do that - at least all the funeral cars I've seen carry the name of the company.

I don't think I've ever seen a hearse that doesn't advertise actually...

It's the way he told them right enough HK. Heard Frank at Butlins, Ayr about
35 years ago. His was the midnight comedy show and boy were the jokes blue. Missed a few cause I was so busy laughing at the one before. Ended up with sore ribs! Brilliant night. RIP Frank

All funeral directors advertise but they don't seem too impressed if you phone round asking for quotes to get the cheapest price. They might get more business if they did a 'plant one get the next one half price' deal.

No, of course not - but I don't understand why people wouldn't discuss a funeral, how it went, and so on... we always have, when we've had family or friend events.

When my mother-in-liaw died on a Bank Holiday weekend, we had to wait until Wednesday to get the paperwork throiugh so my husband, being a Yorkshireman, rang round getting quotes, playing one off against the other. He got the best deal he could, she would have been proud of him! Why is death such a taboo subject for so many? After my mother died, we were choosing an outfit in which to have her buried. She had lost an enormous amount of weight, when I suggested a particular suit my bother held it up and said "But it'll bury her", we both cracked up. It wasn't disrespect, she would have been the first to laugh at the line.

Why is it in bad taste to discuss a funeral? I don't understand that. Death is just one aspect of life - nothing more.
