Why do the majority of Fish and Chip shops in Great Britain seem to run by Greeks.

Whilst in Athens I couldn't find a chippy anywhere!

Most of the ones where I live are run by Turks, but I don't care cos they do lovely kebabs and pizzas as well as ordinary fish & chips - and they're open longer than traditional chippies!
many of the ones around here are run by Chinese.

They are run mostly by Brits here in Devon, Im sure there are also foreign people running them as well.
When I lived in Hales Owen the chippy there was run by a Greek Cypriot, and his chips were bl@@dy wonderful. No idea if he's still there. He was a devoted W.B.A. supporter ( there's always one somewhere!!
I could go into an in-depth lecture on culinary socio-economic forces driving ethnicity led fast food but that's a bit too complex for me.
