baby lying on the right
7 Answers
Hello I am 37 weeks pregnant and my babys head is engaged, however her back is on my right instead of on my left and so my midwife has given me some exercises to help turn her back to the left. Anyone experienced this, and know why its important to be on the left? Thanks!

The back of her head is on right and facing left, midwife said she should be the other way round so I have been told no lying on my right and not to cross my legs as much as possible, and I have to sit on the sofa facing forward with a pillow to turn her
no sqad its my 5th but 3rd full term...lizi i am still waiting- she turned back to the left but in the last week she has trned right again.
apparently baby should be on the left as this means she has passed the point of being back to back and labour should be easier ( ie: she will only need to rotate 90 degrees- however being on the right means she will have to rotate more ( inc round the back- 270 degrees) which will cause a lot of pain at around 5cm dilation while she moves past my back.
hope that makes sense!
