lost item on holiday

My husband left a v expensive jumper in the back of a taxi while on holiday.can we claim for it on our holiday insurance or home insurance? we have called the taxi company 4 times and nothing has been found.it was a lacoste jumper that cost 130 pounds.

I'd say no
Because insurance is for lost baggage not lost items unless expressly indicated
Why bother? Even in the unlikely event of your succeeding, your premiums would go up. Write it off.
Some contents policies cover personal belongings worldwide...so you will have to check your T&C, but with paying the excess and losing some NCD is it worth it??
