Almost finished reading all of Camilla Lackberg's books which I'm thoroughly enjoying. Read that if I likes these then I would love Jo Nesbo's books. Has anyone read these?

His hero, Harry Hole, has a dark edge to him and the books have page-turning plots which you will probably enjoy. If you like dipping your toe into the sea of Scandinavian writers, you could also try Karin Fossum, Karin Alvtegen, Liza Marklund or Johan Theorin. And let's not forget the very popular Henning Mankel. Hope this helps.
I've read a few Jo Nesbo and been a bit disappointed, I'm afraid. I have a couple of Henning Mankel that I am looking forward to reading. If you havent read Stig Larsenns Millenium Trilogy then make it your first priority. Lisbeth Salander (the girl with the dragon tattoo) is now my favourite female literary character!
I really enjoyed the Millennium trilogy, but in my opinion Jo Nesbo is the better author. The first two books in the Harry Hole series haven't been published in English yet, but they set the scene for the later ones as there are references to Harry's solving a case in Australia (The Batman). I've never read Camilla Lackberg, though. Maybe I should!
Bambiagain - I could kiss you!!! I'm just reading the last Harry Hole book and there are references to the Sidney case. I maintained that there had not been a book about this case and suggested that it was because they hadn;t yet been translated. Mr Cake told me I was wrong, I shall now retire to the garden to plot my revenge on him - he should know by now that I am NEVER wrong!
