Agreed but the price didn't go down when they stopped them.

Of course they did for the low-cost airlines, that's the whole basis of their business - cutting out the frills. I meant the standard airlines who dropped in-flight meals as a given didn't immediately show a reduction in price as far as I'm aware.
The usual I expect to save money, them not us. On Thomas Cook if you book the package of 5kg extra luggage and book your seats then meals come free otherwise they are £12pp, £6pp each way.
