It was on special offer at Morrisons just before St Patricks Day so I bought 2 to use for our theme at work. Everyone loved it. I dont like any kind of sauce on my meals

How it happened...


when you think you reach epitome
That nothing can compare
The little lads in marketing
Take it as a dare
It's a national treasure
On food across the land
But we need unique selling point
To modernise the brand
They suggested adding chilli
Because chilli is very big
The taste panel said stuff that
So they had to rejig
They tried HP Red and white wine
But the reviews were really cr@p
Until one night in the irish Bar
It landed in their lap
They were staring at the rugby
And when the ads came on
the market boys with one accord
Found inspiration came along
Thats it...the perfect combo
Like a pair of well matched props
A mix of tastes so perfect
We will sell every drop
They phoned the taste lab there and then
They shouted at them quick
Shove guinness in the HP mate
And do it nice and thick

So this is how it happened
No science in it's creation
HP Guiness came about
Because of the Six nations...
