Alba MP3 Player

I have an Alba MP4200BUK MP3 player and it works fine but every time I switch it on after having turned it off for any amount of time it plays the same song, not even from the start, around halfway through. Have tried skipping to a different song, pausing then turning it back on but it still happens. Any ideas, the manual is no help?

Thanks fender; have tried that but it still does it; but is now a different song from the one in my original question so that's something at least!

Thanks for the help fender; found out purely by accident that if you press pause and leave it it goes off on its own then when it's switched back on will start playing from the point where it was paused so just have to make sure I do that instead of actually switching it off!
