Small change

Change one letter to make words that have a connection to one another eg UNKIND (UNWIND), RELAY (RELAX), RENT (REST), BASE (EASE), LOAD (LOAF).
1 CRAWL, FAIL, AERATE, FLAME, CHIME.
2 ROMEO, CLAPS, SOURS, POISE, BOOTH.

Thank you BIGJACK, ubasses & chelle7272 for your kind replies for number 1 I had ?????, RAIL, BERATE, BLAME, CHIDE but could'nt find a word to fit the first word, and for number 2 I had RODEO, CHAPS, SPURS, ?????, BOOTS but could'nt find a word to fit the 4th one,
