Hi
Can anyone recommend a cream for dry eyes? my eyelids are itchy and flakey - help!

For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.Go to the shop and look for eye creams and then look at the ingredients in the cream. Make sure you don't choose one which has got 'Water' first in the ingredient as that means it's mostly waterbased and that's not a godd moisturiser for flakey eyes. Water being 2nd or even better 3rd is best. If you can find something with sea minerals and/or algae that would be great.
Whatever you do, don't apply vaseline. Vaseline is just petroleum jelly and is not a moisturiser. If you apply that to skin it lies on top of the skin and won't let it breathe. If you then start sweating the sweat can't penetrate the vaseline and it gets all horrible. Also as vaseline is so sticky every bit of dust and grit will stick to it.
Another good tip is to make an eye mask of mashed avocado and cold camomile tea. Put it on your eyes for about 15-20mins but only do it once a week as it's quite a heavy and fattening mask that it could make your eyelids swell if you do it too much.

thank you so much everyone who posted - I do suffer from dry eyes too and have hypermellose drops for that. I did use vaseline earlier this week to no avail and tried E45 cream but it didnt help.
I am gonna get a docs appt as it seems to be getting worse - unfortunately I am away on business Mon-Wed and cant get an appt til Thursday. cheers x
