Apache was number 1 in August 1960, this was the Shad's 1st solo no.1. This was followed by Kon-Tiki, Wonderful Land, Dance On! and Foot Tapper, their last.

number ones--- depends whether you read the NME or Melody Maker, Man Of Mystery made No2 with one if i remember and No 1 in the other chart

defining no 1s in terms of which chart will always be an issue, maybe more now when there are 3 broadcast radio charts, using different criteria for their compilation. man of mystery had various high points of 1, 2 (as indicated by rsd2525) and, according to the chart used by Guinness, number 5.
