Does anyone have a phone number for the DVLA where you can actually talk to someone?
I've phoned different 0300 numbers and it's all automated.

If you don't choose any of the available options you might then get put through to 'Dave' in Mumbai.

go onto the automated systems and do nothing...say nothing eventually most of these numbers go through to a human of sorts

I don't mind speaking to Dave in Mumbai, it's better than listening to this posh bloke rambling on for 10 mins and then finding out nothing.

I have heard it said that faced with a string of automated questions, just keep pressing 0 (zero) and the machine will put you through to a person. Never tried it but may be worth a go.

I know the just hold on option works it takes time though....

Well I don't know how it happened but I pressed an option, not the one I wanted, and someone came on and was able to deal with my query so I think it might just be an any option will work.

I phoned dvla late in the day to ask about my driver licence renewal. Person who answered sounded uk based. He was very helpful and a few days after got back my renewed licence.

What annoys me is that these organisations make you wait and wait by having you work through their automated systems or listen to music - while making you pay for the privilege! It's different if it's a free number but I think organisations are paid part of the cost of numbers like 0300 - so they make money from callers by keeping them on the phone!
