Hi

Has anyone purchased items on EBay before from International sellers?

I was thinking about purchasing a soft toy from an EBay seller who is based in China. The item is very cheap & is listed in UK pounds sterling (under £2) The postage is apparently free, so am I likely to incur any customs costs?

Sorry about this, but this would be my first time buying from an international seller and I am a bit nervous

Well I have bought things in the past of Ebay that have come from China, and all I have payed is the Ebay price.

I don't have experience purchasing from international sellers but if the toy is for a child I'd be cautious - it might not meet the saftey standards etc that apply in this country.

ive bought quite a few items from china hong kong etc and never had any extra charges.

So have I, the only time I have had to pay customs charges is for things bought from the US and Canada.

I've bought (and sold) a number of items internationally, and, for the most part, haven't had a problem. As to your queston, the few real problems I've had, one was with a Chineses purchase... finally had to go through Ebay for a refund since it was never shipped. In all fairness, I've had a few other non-shipment problems, but those were with sellers here in the U.S.

At the very least, check the sellers feedback results ...

Never had any problems either with international sellers, neither with the item or postage costs. Only thing I would add is that don't expect the item anytime soon especially if postage is free- it'll take aggggggggges to arrive.

Has anyone experienced problems when purchasing anything from Hong Kong? Postage is cheap, but not free. Do the same rules apply as China?
