When did North become North and known as North and the planet earth seen with North at the top and South at the bottom ?
Space has no top and bottom or North or South.
So in history at some point , someone had a map and marked North as the top and south as the bottom.

Ok So I have my early compass and the pin points to magnetic North.
I could have called it South ?
And then at that point of calling it North as a direction , someone decided that was up or top of Map , rather than bottom.
