Thanks for asking. Went to see him this late afternoon. He had an angiogram earlier and a stent inserted. His description of it was b----y painful and I heard a few things about his nether regions which perhaps should not have been expressed to his blushing mama. Glad he told me of course. Would have hated if he had tried to hide what he really felt.
He was flat on his back when I arrived but later a nurse came with a pillow to raise his head which not unnaturally made him dizzy for a short while.

He is positive thinking, already read two books, starting to feel bored, but allowed his mobile phone. How lucky are we as a family! Thankyou NHS.

Thankyou gness and tinks. Wilco.
Hello Daisy - you must feel reassured now. The pain will soon subside. Glad it all went well for him xx
That's good news DN. I hope he gets stronger and feels better soon xx
He'll be back on the gin soon..........or whatever his tipple is re spirits, beer has more sugar..........
best wishes all round!
Thankyou all, it is good to be able to share one's problems. Here's to the future!
Hope you as a family are doing your research into it,DN - I have a good friend with D1 and she quickly adjusted, going onto a controlled diet to shed 6 stone and even now, eight years on, she avoids puds and things like that, fruit ok for dessert........Each of us is different and I am sure your son will find his way through with the help of the medical support and, crucially, his family, as he may need the little hint here and there as it takes time to become familiar with what is kosher and what isn't....and in function ofhow is sugar levels respond
Thankyou for your advice DT. My son is not overweight, does not smoke, rarely drinks, cycles to work, is aware of of his diet and is physically active. Not got a sweet tooth either.

Another example of life not being fair Daisy.
Agreed. He is a lovely person, has a wife and two children, works in IT at a local College, has a degree in geology, helps to run a Cub Pack, involved with the Sea Scouts.
